Fifties Dance: Party goers enjoyed an evening of rock and roll and dancing to the music of the 50s to celebrate the church’s fiftieth year. Jubilee Weekend: St Philip and St James celebrated its Jubilee in style in May with a weekend of services, exhibitions and drama. Superheroes Holiday Club: Our Holiday Club in February 2007 was based on Superheroes Christmas services: We had a number of special services over the Christmas period in December 2006. Indian Bazaar: Our Bazaar in November was a great success and raised lots of money for projects India. Alan and Sandra's 25 years: Alan & Sandra Bain celebrated 25 years of ministry in October 2006 Back to Church Sunday: On Sunday 24th September the church was packed as lots of people came back to church. Red Lion Fun Day: The Red Lion Fun Day in partnership with us raised over £400 for a Ugandan school. Summer Day Out: See pictures of our day out on the coast on Saturday 12th August 2006. Family Fun Day: Our Family Fun Day in July 06 included family service a picnic and lots of games for all ages. Gospel Rocky: Frank McGregor brought his Gospel Rocky show to St Philip & St James on 21st May 2006. Parish Weekend: Over 100 members of St Philip's went to Sidholme for our Parish Weekend from 5-7 May 2006. Narnia Holiday Club: In February 2006 we ran our Annual Holiday Club based on the Narnia theme. Christmas Services: At Christmas 2005 there were a number of special services including a play by the Explorers and our Carol service with Christmas Choir. Turkey Visit: A group of church members visited Turkey in October 2005 to see the places written about in the book of Revelation. Baptisms: Jo Davis and Dan Wiles were baptised by the fathers in September 2005. Visit to Egypt: Vicar Alan Bain led a group of 10 members of the church on a tour of Middle Egypt in October 2004 for a week. Internet Carol Service: St Philip’s Internet Carol Service was beamed across the world via the Internet on 17 December 2003. Visit to Jordan: Fourteen members of St Philip's followed the trail of Biblical sites in Jordan in October 2003. First Broadband Internet Service: Our first service broadcast live on the Internet was on Sunday 31st August 2003. |
