| BEING GOD'S PEOPLE
|

|
We are a
people that love God wholeheartedly, worship and delight in God, who are
his friends, know his joy, love and grace, and who are grateful for his
forgiveness and
|
| acceptance. We will focus on God and his teaching.
A people
that demonstrate a corporate commitment to God that seek, expect and recognise
God's guidance. A people that allow God's love to inspire them. A people
that forgive wrongs, accept failure, are aware of their own failings and
share in humility.
ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT IN SERVICE
|
|
|
A church
where we are all disciples, share the Lord's work, and are active, alive
and vibrant. Support for children's and youth work that is Godcentred
and develops
|
| Christian values and friendships
with young people participating
(no age barrier). To develop an active group of enthusiastic, spirit-led
leaders.
All action
to be rooted in prayer and in the spirit of sacrificial service.

BEING GOD'S CHURCH IN ODD DOWN
|

|
A welcoming
church where every member is loved and appreciated for themselves and
their gifts. These gifts should be accepted, offered, released, welcomed,
developed and used, so our individual potentials
|
can be used to
love
and care for one another.
A church
where newcomers are eagerly welcomed and integrated into a place of
friendship and support. A body whose boundaries are people, not walls,
that reaches everyone in the parish, where no-one is excluded, forgotten
or lonely, and where love, wisdom, discernment and understanding prevail.
A church
that provides stability and hope for individuals and families. A place
where Christ can be seen, where we learn to follow him, and mature in
him. Where we receive spiritual direction, nourished by the Word, by preaching,
centred in prayer.
A church
that is part of the Anglican world-wide church, rooted in the past and
in the future.
REACHING OUT TO GOD'S WORLD
|
|
|
A global
vision operating between the church and the world that reaches out generously
as God leads. This vision will be touched by need and angered by injustice.
